Sheehan

Geez, I'm getting sick of this woman, and not because she's bashing the President, she has every right to protest. The thing I find particularly disturbing is that when she was arrested in front of the white house a couple days ago, she had a huge smile on her face. For some reason, it just didn't look like she was there to show how distraught she was over her son's death. Just look at the picture, does that look like a woman who's there protesting the war because she's distraut over her son's death? For some reason I don't get that impression.

Something just seems very inauthentic about her and her intentions. In addition, I think its funny that the organizers were saying there were upwards of 300,000 people in washington, which is not even close to the actual number. Most estimates put it at around 100,000, which dont get me wrong is still a lot of people....but thats quite a difference. The main point here I think is the fact that this protest is in fact smaller than the protest which came at the beginning of the iraq war....hmmm....interesting. And when you consider how much publicity this protest had gotten even before it happened, I think of this "march" as quite a big failure.

100,000 people (a conservative est. in one of the many cities that had protests) and you consider that a failure. Not when you compare it to the less than 1000 pro war supporters who decided to gather in protest of protestors. thats about as ludicrous as questioning the motives of a woman with a DEAD SON!!! remember she couldn't be that screwed up to have raised an eagle scout marine

So, you consider it a success, when less people showed for this one than before the war....when by the way a vast majority of people in this country supported the war? Lets think, maybe the reason pro war supporters didnt show up in great numbers is that they dont have anything to protest. We're in iraq, and were not leaving, theyre not going to change anything. And if you dont think sheehan has foul intentions, then something is definitely definitely wrong with you.

actually recent polls show 59% of americans believe the war in Iraq was a MISTAKE!! (Gallup poll numbers) and only 32% of people surveyed agree with the way that george bush has handled the war. Considering that historically almost every military conflict in the last century is or was supported by at least half the population, that seems to prove the failures of this administration. Now that they're fessing up to the fact that the insurgency could last 12 years(remember when the white house was discussing this in months) its so obvious the incompetence of the administration that only one third of the people think hes on top of things. So you think that the one with dubious intentions is the one with a dead son, as apposed to the one who sent that son to die for weapons that don't exist on intelligence that was "being fixed around the policy"---direct bush qoute, downing street memos
