Meredith Vieira fires back
Set to become the co host of NBC's "Today," Meredith is firing back at her critics who claim she is a radical liberal. Perhaps they were making those statements because she is?
She marched in an anti-war rally back in august of 2004.
Earlier that year, she proclaimed, "Everything's been built on lies. Everything! I mean the entire pretext for war."
With war impending in March of 2003, Vieira argued that anti-war protests "should be consistent and repeated every day, I believe."
Here's her statement on the matter: "I'm an independent. I'm not a Democrat or a Republican. I'm not particularly interested in politics, truth be told. Every time you read the paper, somebody lies about something [about the war.] I've been vocal about it."
Haha, give me a break.
I thought reporters and anchors were supposed to be unbiased? Taking part in an anti-war rally, then bragging about it? That's just absolutely ridiculous.
My girlfriend is the producer of a morning news show that covers something like 20 counties here in central Missouri. She's not even on air, but she's not allowed to do things such as go to protests or even sign a petition. Yet, the woman who is prepared to take over the Today show does? Doesn't make much sense to me!

Yeah, unfortunately, this is how the world works. Sure she could go out to a protest, but then she's seen by her boss. Then all of the sudden she magically doesn't get the promotion she's up for. Come on, you should know that the world's just not fair sometimes.
what is it with right wing conservatives? If you state you are against war they claim you are against your country, but god forbid the adminsitration who sent soldiers in to die for their war or power ,greed ,war profiteering and lets not forget oil....ask them what they are doing in te casian sea area where they have Blackwater protecting the oil reserves, or why The private mercenaries at Blackwater some have high security clearance within our government and are privy to secrets?...If we had been just liberators as Cheney claimed in Iraq we would have left there long ago....ask about the PNAC agenda for war
I'm curious as to why conservative christians are for war! and for plundering the earth and saying global warming is a myth, aren't christians supposed to be compassionate and caring....what is it they care about aside from gay or abortion rights.....why don't they care about troops dying, or that corporations are more important than the people...do they merely vote because of gay and abortion issues and the rest be damned......why is it that the right is always for torture!....something seems a bit twisted if you ask me
I think the corporate press has brainwashed people into being listless and passive. If more people paid attention to what was going on , maybe they would become more angry about what is going on in the world because oif this administration...read "Blackwater" by Jeremy Scahill....get mad! and then do something!
Your right the press doesn't even report certain stuff ; like the march in Wash DC against the war ...where over 100,000 people from all over the country marched...think about it what did you hear about the downing St Memo...not much.....they are biased by way of omission, because the corporations own the news and Bush rewards the corporations and not the american people so they benefit...and you my friend are fed propaganda.......and worse propaganda on Fox
